You probably wouldn't know it, but Salvatore hasn't been collecting pokemon cards his whole life. He was born and raised here in Thunder Bay. He grew up working in the family-run restaurant his father had opened, and spent his years between the kitchen of Bar Italia and the football field.

He got his business degree in pursuit of becoming an accountant, but after some soul searching, he made up his mind to become a chef and went to Toronto. There, he met the woman who would become his wife, and they moved back to Thunder Bay to build a life together.

His love for football led him to become a coach, but his love for the restaurant life never clicked. While on paternity leave for his 4th child, he began to share something with his oldest son that he loved growing up: Pokemon.

Noticing a lack of Pokemon cards for sale in town, Salvatore started buying and selling card collections on Facebook and local card shows. It was so successful that within 5 months he had enough confidence in the idea to quit his job and serve all the wonderful pokemon enthusiasts of Northern Ontario in his very own storefront.

He is driven by his love for his family, and whether he is running his store, working in a kitchen, or on the football field, he loves building and fostering communities.
